Meet the Professional, Friendly, Welcoming Team at our Family Care Dental Clinic

The dental care team at our family care dental clinic include our dental hygienists, Megan and Sherry and our dental assistants, Angela and Samantha.

Dental Hygienists do a lot more than clean your teeth

Dental hygienists play an important role in protecting the health of your teeth and gums – and looking out for problems with your overall health. In addition to cleaning and polishing your teeth to help make them look their best, at each visit your dental hygienist reviews your medical history, examines your teeth, mouth, gums and tongue, and measures the attachment of the gums to your teeth. They are the first line of that most important dental service – the dental exam. They also provide ongoing dental hygiene tips to help keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Our dental hygienist Sherry was born and raised in Midland, and has been with Midland Bay Dental since 1996. She knows our patients like friends and has cared for them and their families for the past two decades. Megan graduated from Georgian College in 2006, and joined Midland Bay Dental in 2014. She is professional, friendly, and loves to help you take care of your teeth!

Dental Assistants are critical to a family care dental clinic

Dental assistants are an important part of your dental care appointment. Dental assistants are responsible for preparing and sterilizing all the dental equipment – a job that became even more critical when the COVID pandemic began. They help keep the office running by monitoring supplies and preparing dental restorative materials like the amalgams used in filling cavities. CDA II level assistants can also do teeth impressions, apply numbing agents to teeth to prepare for dental procedures, and counsel patients on their diets. They can also help with oral irrigation and assist the dentist during dental procedures like fillings, dental crowns, dental implants, and tooth extractions.

Both our dental assistants at Midland Bay Dental, Angela and Samantha, have their CDA II designation. Angela has worked in the dental field for over 12 years and has a warm and caring attitude that helps our patients feel welcome and comfortable during their visit. Our newest assistant, Samantha has always loved going to the dentist. So much so that she went to Fanshawe College to become a dental assistant. She brings her love of the dentist office to work every day, helping patients enjoy their visits as much as she does.
